Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are honored and delighted to welcome you to The First NAFOSTED Conference on Information and Computer Science (NICS 2014) co-organized by The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) and Military Technical Academy.

NICS’2014 belongs to a series of scientific activities supported by NAFOSTED to build a durable, innovative and conducive environment for research activities at universities and institutes, improve the research ability of young scientists and establish research groups that meet international standards.

The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers from Vietnam and overseas in an academic forum to present and discuss recent advancements and future directions in the field of information and computer science. With the acceptance rate of 57% at the first time, we believe that the conference quality remains at a high standard. A part from the main program, the conference also features a special session on NAFOSTED’s funding programs in an effort to attract more involvement from the research community.

At the very first year of NICS, we are pleased to introduce Military Technical Academy, a 47-year-old university with many research achievements in science and technology, as a perfect place to start the conference.

We would like to thank all the authors and conference attendees for your participation. It is your knowledge and enthusiasm that make the conference a successful and enjoyable event for all of us. We also wish to acknowledge the conference program committee and reviewers, for their substantial contributions.
