2020 IEEE Conference on Cognitive and Computational Aspects of Situation Management (CogSIMA)

CogSIMA 2020 is now soliciting proposals for workshops to be co-located with its main conference. CogSIMA workshops will provide a meeting for presenting novel ideas in a less formal venue that focuses on specific topics relevant to the wide areas of interest to CogSIMA. The aim of the workshops are to stimulate and facilitate active exchange, interaction, and comparison of approaches, methods, and ideas. To motivate the discussion and participation of all the workshop attendants, we encourage organizers to get away from the typical "mini-conference" format of a workshop, and include more discussion sessions, panels, etc. See the short instructions for the 2 page proposal below:

Important Dates

  • Workshop proposal submission deadline: October 15, 2019
  • Workshop acceptance notification: November 1, 2019
  • Workshop call for papers online (at the latest): November 15, 2019
  • Workshop Papers (if to be published with CogSIMA Proceedings) deadline: January 1, 2020
  • Workshop Papers acceptance notification: February 4, 2020
  • Workshops Papers Camera Ready due: March 6, 2020


Dec 9: Final (!) Extension: Paper submissions are due Dec. 30.
Oct 24: Deadline Extension: Due to popular demand, we will extend the paper submission period to Dec. 10.
Oct 22: We are pleased to announce that Prof. Edward L. Waltz will present a keynote address.
Oct 21: We are pleased to announce that cognitive neuroscientist and anthropologist Dr. Bob Deutsch will present a keynote address on artful thinking.
Oct 15: We are pleased to announce that Prof. Barry Smith (University at Buffalo, USA) will present a keynote address.
