Welcome you to the workshop on Quantum Communications and Information Technology (QCIT'16) at IEEE GlobeCom 2016 in Washington, DC. This second workshop organized by ComSoc's emerging technical committee on quantum communications and information technology brings together researchers from all over the world to discuss the latest advances in communications related quantum technology.

The technical program of QCIT'16 consists of a keynote, 9 paper presentations and an open panel discussion.

QCIT'16 received 22 paper submissions from 14 countries, out of which 9 papers have been accepted - corresponding to an acceptance rate of 41%. All papers have undergone a rigorous review process - every paper was reviewed by at least 3 experts.

We would like to especially thank the members of the technical program committee and the external reviewers for their dedication. Without their help, this second workshop on QCIT would not be possible. We would also like to thank the keynote speaker for contributing this important part of the program. Last, but not least, our sincere thanks to the workshop chairs, Stefano Secci and Robert Cui, and the technical program chair, Sherman Shen, for their strong support and willingness to help.
