Dear AUPEC 2024 Delegates,

It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome each of you to the 34th Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC), held in Sydney, Australia. AUPEC has long been a cornerstone event for researchers, industry leaders, and academics to collaborate, discuss, and drive innovation in power engineering and energy systems in Australasia and globally. This year, as we focus on sustainable energy solutions, AUPEC 2024 promises to inspire insightful exchanges and collaborations that will shape the future of our field.

This year's theme, "Driving towards a sustainable energy transition", reflects our shared commitment to tackling critical challenges in energy systems, renewable integration, and grid modernisation. With academic and industry keynote speakers who are leaders in these domains, as well as an impressive lineup of technical sessions, tutorials, and panel discussions, we look forward to broadening our understanding and inspiring action on some of today's most pressing energy challenges.

A special feature of AUPEC 2024 is Industry Day, which will discuss collaboration between academia and industry and ways to strengthen it. This day provides participants with a unique opportunity to interact with leading professionals in the power engineering field, making it an essential event for anyone looking to learn about the industry's latest innovations and challenges.

None of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of our organizing committees, technical reviewers, and volunteers. I would also like to thank our sponsors and exhibitors for their generous support, which enabled us to make this conference a successful and impactful experience.

TPC Chair Welcome

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to the 34th Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference. We are very excited to have all of you here in beautiful Sydney thisAC November. Your attendance and engagement are what really makes this conference an impactful and rewarding experience.

This year, we are welcoming more than 125 technical presentations spread across 20 technical sessions, with authors representing more than 35 countries from the Asia-Pacific and across the world. As both academia and industry work together towards "a sustainable energy transition", we see great interest in the areas of Renewable Energy Systems, Power System Stability and Power System Planning and Power Electronics, highlighting the critical role they play in shaping our energy future. We also see very strong focus in the areas of Transportation Electrification, Power System Resilience and Cybersecurity.

Our dedicated Industry Day offers a great opportunity to engage with experts on renewable integration, distribution network challenges, and power electronics advancements for future grids and find opportunities for collaboration between Industry and Academia. We also extend our thanks to the many volunteers who assisted with the technical reviews for the conference, planning organising and running this event.

Whether you're here to share your research, learn, or just connect with peers, I hope you will find AUPEC 2024 full of valuable insights and meaningful connections.
