2024 IEEE 34th Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC)

The Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC), a well-established event with a 34-year history, has now become the IEEE PES Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference. Despite this transition, AUPEC maintains its rich tradition of uniting academics, students, researchers, and practicing engineers-primarily from Australasia, but increasingly from around the globe. The conference remains a platform for presenting groundbreaking ideas and developments in power and energy engineering.

AUPEC 2024 took place from 20th to 22nd November in Sydney Australia and covered a broad spectrum of topics, including:
  • Power system stability, operation, and control
  • Power system planning and operation
  • Grid resiliency and protection
  • Power system communications
  • Power electronics and converter technologies
  • Power quality and harmonic mitigation
  • Electrical machines and drives
  • Advances in power engineering education
  • Electricity markets and economics
  • Renewable energy technologies
  • Energy storage systems
  • Distributed and consumer energy resources
  • Demand-side management
  • Virtual power plants
  • Microgrid development (AC, DC, and hybrid)
  • Multi-carrier energy systems, including hydrogen integration
  • Asset management in power systems
  • Cybersecurity challenges in the energy sector
