Welcome Message from the Technical Program Chairs
Welcome Message from the Technical Program Chairs
Welcome to the 2019 edition of the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (IEEE WCNC 2019)!
The excitement of "Touch through Wireless" could not find a better place than magical Marrakech to host discussions on the advancement of wireless communications and networking technology.
The conference received 1,047 submissions, of which 518 have eventually been accepted. In more details, Track 1 "PHY and Fundamentals" has 178 papers which are presented in 30 Sessions; Track 2 "MAC and Cross-Layer Design" has 42 papers in 7 Sessions; Track 3 "Wireless Networks" has 192 papers in 32 Sessions; and Track 4 "Emerging Technologies, Architectures and Services" has 106 papers in 18 Sessions.
The technical program will be enlightened by keynotes by eminent experts: Seizo Onoe (DOCOMO Technology), Jianmin Lu (Huawei Wireless Technology Lab), Lauri Oksanen (Nokia Solutions and Networks), Jin Bains (Facebook), Muriel Médard (MIT) and Ali H. Sayed (Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne).
Panels gathering selected experts from Industry will highlight trends and challenges in wireless communications and networking. The panels will cover topics such as drone networks, cloud slicing, millimeter-wave V2X for automated driving in 5G, paving the way for 6G and 5G enabled smart industry.
Moreover, the workshop program offer a variety of specific forum for discussions on several topics, such as: Advanced 5G radio access network features and performance (ARANFP), Coexisting Radio and Optical Wireless Deployments (CROWD), Enabling Energy Internet via Machine-type Wireless Communications (EEIMWC), Enabling Ultra Reliability and Low Latency Communications for 5G and Beyond (EURCOMM), Future Networking Workshop for 5G and Beyond Testbed and Trials (FN-5GBTT), Economics and Adoption of Millimeter Wave Technology in Future Networks (FNAMWT), 5G Cloud-Native Design (5GCND), Security and Forensics in CyberSpace (SFCS 2019), Smart Spectrum (IWSS), Mathematical Tools for IoT Networks Modeling (MoTION), Satellite-terrestrial Interworking: a pillar of forthcoming 5G systems (SIPF), Ultra-high Speed, Low Latency and Massive Connectivity Communication for 5G/B5G (uHSLLC), Cloud Technologies and Energy Efficiency in Mobile Communication Networks (CLEEN 2019), Evolutional Technologies & Ecosystems for Beyond 5G (WDN-5G), Intelligent Computing and Caching at the Network Edge (wedge), Critical and Massive Connectivity solutions for 5G and Beyond (WSCMC).
Complementing the program, attendees will have the opportunity to learn interesting topics in the tutorials sessions covering crowd sensing, sofwarization in 5G, artificial intelligence for wireless networks, wireless transmission of big and small data, deep-learning for wireless networks, optical-wireless networks towards 5G and integrated and aerial terrestrial 6G networks.
We would like to express our hearty gratitude to the Track Chairs and reviewers for the fantastic job they did in the hard task of reviewing and selecting the accepted papers. Moreover, we are grateful to all authors who submitted their work to WCNC 2019.
We hope you enjoy the high quality technical program and delight yourself networking with your colleagues.
We are looking forwards to an exciting and outstanding conference.
