Message from the Technical Program Chairs

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 2012 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC 2012), Paris, 1-4 April 2012. You will find an exciting technical program comprising 116 technical sessions reporting on advances in physical, network and application layer technologies, 9 tutorials by world-class experts, and 8 business and application panels covering many aspects of wireless communications, systems and applications. The program also includes 7 workshops covering several hot topics that are of significant interest to both industry and academia.

As in previous editions of IEEE WCNC, the technical sessions are organized in 4 different tracks: PHY and Fundamentals (PHY), MAC and Cross-Layer Design (MAC), Mobile and Wireless Networks (NET), and finally Services, Applications, and Business (SAB). The conference received 1,407 paper submissions from 72 countries, and from those 621 papers were accepted after a careful review process. Only 9 accepted papers were lost during the final paper submission and 612 are included in the conference program. In addition, the IEEE WCNC 2012 workshops received 179 submissions, and from those 88 were accepted. Preparation of this outstanding program would not have been possible without the dedication and the hard work of the workshops chairs, tutorials chairs, panels chairs, track chairs and many technical program committee (TPC) members and reviewers. We take this opportunity to acknowledge their work and thank them for their help in ensuring that IEEE WCNC 2012 will be remembered as a high-quality conference.

We hope that you will enjoy the technical program as well as the social program of IEEE WCNC 2012 and we look forward to meeting you in Paris.
