Welcome from the Technical Program Chair
Welcome to the 15th edition of the IEEE International Conference on RFID.
This year, 31 papers, 5 keynotes, and 17 posters will be presented worldwide through a hybrid conference format that will host participants both in Atlanta (GA) and online. The new ideas and technical results brought by authors, workshop organizers and speakers are confirming, once more, the evolving nature of the RFID technology and its multidisciplinary applications. The increase in paper submissions to the track on Next-Generation RFIDs and the introduction of a new track focused on RFID in healthcare reflect the ability of the RFID technology to expend in several new fields. Moreover, the Wireless Motion Capture and Fine Scale Localization track, with 29% of accepted submissions, shows a consolidate interest in using RFIDs for low-powered wireless tracking and localization. All these new and evolving fields are built upon the on-going research results achieved by the RFID community in the fields of antenna and circuit design, protocol and software development, sensors, low-powered electronics, and energy harvesting.
The IEEE International Conference on RFID can boast the contribution of more than 50 esteemed Technical Program Committee Members directly involved in all the fields characterizing the RFID technology. My most sincere “Thank you” goes to all of them. Their hidden and never-enough acknowledged work done behind the curtains constitutes an important asset for our conference. Every submitted paper, in fact, was reviewed by three members of the Technical Program Committee for a total of 126 reviews that assure the high technical standard of the event and give invaluable comments to the authors for improving, enriching, and expanding their current and future research in the field of RFID.
