Welcome Message from the Workshops Chairs

On behalf of the ICC 2017 Technical Program Committee, we are pleased to welcome you to the 2017 edition of the IEEE International Conference on Communications (IEEE ICC2017) Workshops, in Paris, France. Workshops are an integral part of the main IEEE ICC2017 conference and are held on the first and last day of the conference, on 21 and 25 May 2017. The Workshops are intended to capture hot and new topics relevant to the conference but not covered in traditional symposiums of the conference.

In 2017, we have received a total of 36 proposal for workshops on very interesting topics. Due to space limitations and after a peer-review, we have selected a total of 18 workshops, for the two days, including 6 full-day and 2 half-day workshops on Sunday 21 May 2017, as well as 6 full-day and 4 half-day workshops on Thursday 25 May 2017. The selected workshops cover very timely and hot topics in communications, such as 5G network architecture, flexible networks, optical wireless, and ultra-dense networks. These workshops have received a total number of 484 paper submissions of which 229 papers have been accepted for presentation during the conference. Most workshops include innovative and interesting ideas in their program including keynote talks, panel discussions and demonstrations.

Workshops are seen as an important and innovative part of recent IEEE ICC conferences and we are delighted that we will have an exciting two full-day workshop program in IEEE ICC2017 in Paris. Our warmest thanks go to the Organizing Committee of the individual workshops, who have contributed significantly to the success of the conference; to the Technical Program Committee members and reviewers of all workshops; and, most importantly, to all the authors who kindly submitted their papers to the IEEE ICC 2017 Workshops. We look forward to seeing everyone in Paris!
