Welcome
Message from the Steering Committee and Conference General Chairs
On behalf of the Steering Committee of the 6th International Conference on Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST 2011), we would like to welcome our guests, speakers and participants to have a fruitful, successful and enjoyable stay in Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, we would like to express our gratitude and thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Vice Chairman of Khalifa University’s Board of Trustees, for accepting to hold the conference under his patronage. We would also like to thank Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research for accepting to organize the conference and host it in the UAE.
This conference is the result of huge efforts of volunteers from the UAE, UK and the many other countries. It is the result of 5 previous successful stories of conferences held in different international venues. The previous five conferences were held in London and Dublin. We are very excited that this time the conference will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
This conference is the 6th in the series and is held in Abu Dhabi in the period of 11-14 December 2011. The conference will host for the first time two workshops, the first of which is a graduate student workshop "AlKindi Student Workshop on Cryptology" and the second is the "International Workshop on Information Security, Theory and Practice (ISTP-2011)". Also the conference will host for the third time the successful workshop series “International Workshop on RFID/USN Security and Cryptography (RISC)”. This conference follows the steps of the previous 5 conferences in determining the focus areas of: Internet Application and Technology, Ubiquitous & Cloud Computing, Information Security, Multimedia & Web Services, and Infonomics & e-Technology.
The keynote speakers have been carefully selected to address the current and future issues related to Internet Technology and Security. Our special thanks should be conveyed to the companies who have agreed to become the patrons of this major international Conference. Without their support it would not have been possible to reach to this successful stage.
Our success should be contributed to those who have pulled up their sleeves and worked hard to ensure smooth operations before and during the event. Hence, we would like to thank the Steering Committee comprised of members from Khalifa University and the international community, the Organizing Committee, the Technical Program Committee, the Workshops and Special Tracks Committee, the Patronge Committee, the Publications Committee, the Publicity and PR Committee, the Web and Registration Committee, the Local Arrangements and Events Committee.
We wish you all a successful knowledge gaining event and a very enjoyable stay, and we look forward to meeting you again in the next ICITST Conference.

Message from the Organizing Committee Chair
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to welcome you to the 2011 ICITST Conference. Since this is the first year the conference comes to the United Arab Emirates, there was no more suitable venue than the city of Abu Dhabi, the Capital of the UAE. The UAE, in general, and Abu Dhabi, in particular, are working towards diversifying their economy and moving from a predominantly oil-based economy to a diversified knowledge-based economy. This is reflected, for example, in Abu Dhabi’s 2030 Plan. Khalifa University, the organizer of this year’s 2011 ICITST has, in fact, been established to support the achievement of this ambitious plan. The Abu Dhabi government and Khalifa University are therefore strongly supporting the organization and hosting of scientific and research events such as the 2011 ICITST. In fact, there is no stronger evidence for such support than the patronage of this event by His Highness Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Vice Chairman of Khalifa University’s Board of Trustees.
In order to provide our attendees with the best experience, the Organizing Committee has selected the Yas Hotel, Abu Dhabi, to be the venue of the conference. Located in the Yas Island, the hotel majestically is built over the Formula one Yas Island Circuit. The hotel offers an outstanding combination of prime location, resort facilities, luxury hotel rooms & suites, residential apartments, extensive range of food, beverage and shopping outles, and one of the most advanced conference and business facilities in the UAE and Middle East.
I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the members of the Steering Committee for their valuable support and advice. Special thanks go to the keynote speakers and the tutorial presenters for enhancing the technical program with their expertise. I would also like to thank the authors of papers, the technical program committee members, the track chairs, and the reviewers for putting together a very interesting and stimulating technical program.
Special thanks go to the institutions and the companies that contributed generously to support the conference activities. I would also like to thank the EDAS Conference Services team for their professional help with the on-line conference management and the production of the conference e-proceedings.
I would like to express our deepest appreciation to the members of the Organizing Committee and the various volunteers for their professionalism and valuable efforts in making the 2011 ICITST conference a success. In particular I would like to thank all the committees that worked relentlessly with us: the Technical Program Committee, the Workshops and Special Tracks Committee, the Patronge Committee, the Finance Committee, the Publication Committee, the Publicity and PR Committee, the Local Arrangements and Events Committee.
The Organizing Committee tried its best to provide all the ingredients of a successful conference. However, I would greatly appreciate it if participants and all those involved with the 2011 ICITST conference provide us with feedback on how to improve things for the future.
Finally I wish you a very pleasant stay in Abu Dhabi and I encourage you to explore this great city.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Mualla, General Chair
