An Ontology Based Approach with Intelligent Decision for Off-Line Diagnosis of ECU

In order to meet the urgent need for diagnosis of ECU (Electronic Control Unit) function, this paper proposed an simulation approach for ECU intelligent off-line diagnosis based on ontology. A simulation diagnostic system for ECU was established based on this approach. In this system, the minimum numbers of input and output signals to maintain the normal operation of ECU was provided. With the knowledge model constructed in OWL ontology language, the system can simulate the operation environment of ECU and reason the best next operation step. On this basis, the input signals were intelligent regulated. We validated the proposed approach. Proposed approach could help diagnosis engineer to fast diagnose the fault of ECU, and provide valuable reference to development and test of the control strategy of ECU.
